Verbum/Logos Digital Bible Reader Review

I'm in a weekly Bible study on Friday mornings and use Verbum on my iPad. I sometimes get asked what software use. I wrote this as a resource to share with others interested in a digital bible reader.

I have used Kindle versions and the Olive Tree Bible software, but like Verbum for how it has integrated links to other verses in the Bible and other resources.

Verbum is a Catholic version of the Logos Bible Reader. The Verbum version comes with some additional free Catholic books that the Logos software does not include. The app is a free download and is available in the Apple and Google Play stores. You can also use it online at app.logos.com

Like most digital books, Verbum allows you to highlight in multiple colors, take notes, and increase your text size. All your highlights and notes sync between multiple devices (website, iPhone, iPad, etc.)

My favorite feature is that the references to other verses and resources are hyperlinked. You can buy additional titles that all cross-reference each other. I've listed a few of my favorites below.

For our Friday bible study, we use the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible, and for Verbum, you have to buy both the RSVCE Bible and study guides separately. The study guide references the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which is available to read in one easy click.

Here are some of the titles I have bought that I recommend:

Many other titles are available for purchase, including other church documents, many of Scott Hahn's books and saints such as  St. Augustine.
